Around
the Ship |
 |
 |
Each
day's menus in the dining room offered appetizers,
salads and soups, entrees and desserts--the desserts
being beautifully presented and called out for having
its photo taken. |
|
We
disembarked in Progresso, Mexico. We took a tour on top
of a double-decker bus before continuing to Merida. |
 |
 |
Merida
is a very large city that is also quite old. Its
cathedral dates back hundreds of years. When we visited,
a saints day celebration was in progress. The city has
extremely rich and extremely poor people. Some of the
homes are gorgeous mansions. |
|
Belize
City, Belize, is beautifully set around the seaport. The
water is so blue! The ships are not able to come into
port, but passengers are "tendered" into town. There we
met Veronica, the tour guide Jim and the boys used when
they visited before. |
 |
 |
Each
cruise, the food staff prepares a Chocoholic
Buffet--more chocolate than can be easily imagined.
There are wonderful chocolate sculptures (and a few ice
sculptures, too) as well as uncountable forms of cakes,
candies, petit fours, etc. |
|
Every
night the ship's stewards created the cutest animals
from towels and washcloths. |
